Clynderwen is a small village in eastern Pembrokeshire on the main rail line between Narberth and Whitland, sitting in a valley of mixed arable and pastoral farmland below the eastern Preseli foothills. Hawthorn and blackthorn are dense on the hedge banks, with oilseed rape common in the surrounding fields in spring — a major early-season flow. The Clynderwen Brook carries willow and alder along its banks. Higher ground to the north toward Llandewi Velfrey carries bilberry and gorse. The village is quiet and largely residential, with the rail junction at Clarbeston Road nearby. Pembrokeshire BKA serves this inland part of the county.
Collectors attend swarms in the hawthorn hedge banks on the farm lanes around the village, in the willows along the Clynderwen Brook, in the garden trees and outbuildings of the residential properties near the station, and on the gorse and scrub ground on the lower Preseli slopes above the village.

Gorse on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path begins flowering in earnest by March. Blackthorn and hawthorn follow on the sheltered hedges; sycamore and horse chestnut in Tenby, Haverfordwest, St Davids and Fishguard carry May. Lime and bramble fill midsummer in the towns. The Preseli hills contribute bell and ling heather in a quietly reliable August flow. Coastal sea-lavender, sea-thrift and dune plants along Freshwater West and Newgale add seasoning; ivy on stone-built cottage walls closes the year.
