Moy (An Maigh) is a planned eighteenth-century estate town on the east bank of the River Blackwater at the Tyrone–Armagh border, its broad tree-lined square modelled on an Italian piazza. The square carries mature lime and sycamore which flower strongly in May and early July; the Blackwater floodplain below the town is fringed with willows and bankside meadow. The Roxborough demesne to the north of the town holds mature parkland trees. The Blackwater river corridor is productive for riparian forage throughout the season, and the Armagh apple-orchard belt lies across the river. Collectors cover swarms in the lime and sycamore of Moy Square and the town-centre planting, along the Blackwater riverside willows and bankside vegetation south of the bridge, in the garden trees and parkland of the Roxborough demesne, in the whitethorn hedges on the farm lanes east of the town toward the Armagh border, and in the eaves and roof voids of the older properties around the square.

Blackthorn and whitethorn drumlin hedges open the year. Sycamore and hawthorn dominate May. Lime is present in Omagh, Dungannon and Strabane. The Sperrins contribute bell and ling heather in August — a dark, thick crop some Tyrone beekeepers work seriously. Bilberry in the oakwoods adds a June supplement; rosebay willowherb is dense on every disused rail line and stone quarry. Ivy finishes the year on whitewashed cottages.
