Laugharne — Talacharn — stands on the Taf estuary below the famous Boathouse where Dylan Thomas wrote, with the castle ruins on a promontory above the saltmarsh and the broad tidal channel reaching out to Carmarthen Bay. Bee forage here is shaped by estuary and coast: sea-lavender on the mudflats, sea-purslane and cord-grass at the tidal margins, and on the landward slopes hawthorn, bramble and blackthorn in the hedgerows. The Carmarthenshire hay-meadow landscape begins immediately inland, where white clover and birdsfoot trefoil support strong summer colonies. East and West Carmarthen BKAs cover this coastal fringe.
Collectors cover swarms in the orchard and walled garden of the Dylan Thomas Boathouse environs, in the older stone-and-render cottages and gardens of the village centre, along the bramble-covered hedgebanks of the lanes towards St Clears, and on the saltmarsh margin and dune-scrub fringe between Laugharne and Pendine.

Blackthorn and hawthorn in the Tywi and Teifi valleys open the year. Sycamore is everywhere; white clover in the hay meadows still matters. Lime in Carmarthen, Llanelli, Llandeilo and Ammanford gives a strong June flow. The Black Mountain contributes bell and ling heather in August.
