Solva (Solfach) is a picturesque inlet village on St Brides Bay, its long narrow harbour sheltered between two headlands of Cambrian limestone and sheltered enough to support a mild microclimate. Gorse blooms on the coastal slopes from February; sea campion, thrift and bird's-foot trefoil carpet the cliff edges from April. The lime and sycamore trees in the sheltered valley below the village provide a strong early-summer flow, and bramble grows thickly on the inland hedgerows toward Caerfarchell. The mixed cottage gardens of Lower Solva add further pollen variety across the season. Pembrokeshire BKA operates across this stretch of the St Davids Peninsula.
Collectors attend swarms in the sycamore and elder along the harbour-side path and the valley floor, in the gorse and bramble scrub above both headlands on the coastal path, in the cottage gardens and orchards of Lower and Middle Solva, and in stone walls and outbuildings on the farm lanes toward the A487.

Gorse on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path begins flowering in earnest by March. Blackthorn and hawthorn follow on the sheltered hedges; sycamore and horse chestnut in Tenby, Haverfordwest, St Davids and Fishguard carry May. Lime and bramble fill midsummer in the towns. The Preseli hills contribute bell and ling heather in a quietly reliable August flow. Coastal sea-lavender, sea-thrift and dune plants along Freshwater West and Newgale add seasoning; ivy on stone-built cottage walls closes the year.
