Manorbier is a coastal village in south Pembrokeshire, dominated by the well-preserved Norman castle above the sandy beach that Gerald of Wales called the most beautiful place in all Wales. The sheltered south-facing slopes around the castle carry mature sycamore and lime in the castle grounds; gorse covers the clifftop above Manorbier Bay. The village gardens are productive for bees, and the mixed coastal farmland on the plateau above carries hawthorn-rich hedges and clover pasture. The coast path runs east toward Lydstep and west toward Freshwater East, offering a continuous ribbon of gorse, bramble and sea-cliff flowers. Pembrokeshire BKA covers the south coast of the county.
Collectors attend swarms in the castle grounds and the lime and sycamore around the old mill stream, along the gorse and bramble scrub on the coastal path above the bay, in the walled gardens and outbuildings of the castle estate, and in the hedgerow banks of the farm lanes running inland toward Jameston and Manorbier Newton.

Gorse on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path begins flowering in earnest by March. Blackthorn and hawthorn follow on the sheltered hedges; sycamore and horse chestnut in Tenby, Haverfordwest, St Davids and Fishguard carry May. Lime and bramble fill midsummer in the towns. The Preseli hills contribute bell and ling heather in a quietly reliable August flow. Coastal sea-lavender, sea-thrift and dune plants along Freshwater West and Newgale add seasoning; ivy on stone-built cottage walls closes the year.
