Typical swarm locations
Collectors regularly attend swarms in the abbey churchyard limes and sycamores and in the old outbuildings and garden walls of the Court of Dore, along the River Dore riverside willows and watermeadow margins at Dore Bridge and Ewyas Harold, in the cider-apple orchard ground at Pontrilas and Bacton, in the hawthorn and elder scrub of the valley-side hedgerows above Abbey Dore, and in the chimney stacks of the older stone cottages and farm buildings throughout the parish.
