Donaghmore is a village in the drumlin belt north of Dungannon, with a fine early Christian round tower standing in the old churchyard above the village. The surrounding farmland carries dense hawthorn hedges on the drumlin banks, with white clover pasture in the lower-lying field corners. Apple orchards from the south Tyrone–north Armagh belt are within easy reach. The village is notable for its nineteenth-century weaving history, and the old flax-field ditches and damp hollows still carry meadow flowers in places. The Institute of Northern Ireland Beekeepers serves beekeepers in this mid-Tyrone district.
Collectors attend swarms in the hawthorn hedgerows on the drumlin farm lanes around the village, in the garden trees and orchard plots on the village outskirts, along the damp field margins and stream corridors near the old churchyard, in the elder and whin on the drumlin rough ground, and in the eaves and stone walls of the older residential and farm properties.

Blackthorn and whitethorn drumlin hedges open the year. Sycamore and hawthorn dominate May. Lime is present in Omagh, Dungannon and Strabane. The Sperrins contribute bell and ling heather in August — a dark, thick crop some Tyrone beekeepers work seriously. Bilberry in the oakwoods adds a June supplement; rosebay willowherb is dense on every disused rail line and stone quarry. Ivy finishes the year on whitewashed cottages.
