Ombersley is a model village on the A449 between Worcester and Kidderminster, celebrated for its row of medieval and Tudor timber-framed buildings and the fine estate of Ombersley Court, whose parkland extends through the village centre. The Worcester BKA covers the village, and the surrounding landscape — the Ombersley Court parkland limes and sweet chestnuts, the Salwarpe river meadows and alder-lined banks to the east, the mixed arable and pasture farmland of the old Droitwich saltway country, the hedgerow oaks and blackthorn of the Hadley and Uphampton lanes, and the orchard and hop-garden remnants on the Holt Heath fringe — gives local bees a rich variety of woodland, parkland and agricultural forage through the season.
Collectors regularly attend swarms in the parkland limes and sweet chestnuts of Ombersley Court grounds, in the timber-framed garden walls and old outbuildings of the Main Road conservation area, along the Salwarpe riverside willows and alder carr at Holt Heath and Hadley, in the old hop-garden and orchard remnants of the Uphampton fringe, and in the chimney stacks of the older black-and-white timbered properties throughout the village.

The Vale of Evesham opens the year with apple, pear, plum and the last surviving commercial asparagus flowers. Oilseed rape fills the middle fields; hawthorn and sycamore line the lanes. Lime dominates the June streetscape of Worcester, Malvern and Kidderminster. The Malvern Hills bring limestone grassland herbs and a small late-summer heather supplement on the upper slopes; bramble is universal. The tail of the year still carries some traditional hop-garden forage around Bromsgrove, and ivy on the old black-and-white villages closes the season.
