Bloxwich is the northern township of Walsall, a former coal-mining and hardware-making settlement on the South Staffordshire coalfield edge. Chasewater Country Park, the largest heathland reservoir in the West Midlands, lies within a short distance to the north and gives beekeepers access to an unusual heathland forage palette of heather, bilberry and gorse; the Wyrley and Essington Canal defines the western boundary of the town, its towpath banks carrying hawthorn and bramble through the lock corridor between Sneyd and Pelsall Junction.
Collectors are called to swarms along the Wyrley and Essington Canal towpath and the Pelsall Common heathland edge, in the older terraced streets and backyard sycamores around High Street and Lichfield Road, on the scrubby coal-tip margins at Barrow Hill and Fishley, and in the garden borders of the Harden and Blakenall heath residential areas.

Spring is carried on blossoming garden cherry, blackthorn and horse chestnut in parks like Sutton, Lickey Hills and Cannon Hill. Urban limes — both small-leaved and hybrid — dominate the June flow, especially along the old tram and canal routes. Bramble is universal on allotments and towpaths, and rosebay willowherb flushes the brownfield and rail corridors through July. The Clent and Waseley Hills give a useful edge of hill forage to colonies in the southern fringe, and ivy closes a long urban season.
