Weedon Bec is a canal-side village on the Grand Union, often cited as the geographic centre of England, and once home to a Royal Ordnance Depot whose imposing barracks still dominate the western edge of the village. The canal corridor through Weedon is lined with hawthorn, blackthorn and elderflower that support bees throughout spring and summer; the surrounding Nene Valley farmland carries oilseed rape early in the season.
Canal-side hawthorn and elder at Weedon Wharf are a regular swarm location; collectors also attend the stable and outbuilding rooflines of the former Ordnance Depot, riverside scrub along the Nene, and garden trees along the High Street and Watling Street.

The county opens on a mix of oilseed rape and field beans across the arable belt between Kettering and Daventry. Hawthorn, blackthorn and field maple line the ironstone walls and quickset hedges. The estate woodlands — Rockingham, Salcey, Whittlewood — produce a sweet-chestnut and lime flow in June, particularly in the older planting blocks. Bramble is dense along the Nene Valley; rosebay willowherb flushes the disused quarry and railway land; and ivy in ironstone villages gives a generous late crop.
