Long Buckby is a lively market village on the ridge above the Nene Valley, with a traditional livestock market that still draws the surrounding farming community. The arable and pasture farmland around the village carries a dense hedgerow network — hawthorn blossom in May, field beans and white clover across the West Northamptonshire uplands, and bramble in the old ridge-and-furrow field margins through summer.
