Market Bosworth is a small historic market town in west Leicestershire, set on a ridge above the Sence valley and best known for the Bosworth Battlefield site a mile to the south where Richard III fell in 1485. The Leicestershire and Rutland BKA covers the town, and the surrounding landscape — the ancient parkland of Bosworth Park with its lime avenues and mature oaks, the ridge-and-furrow old pasture of the Sence and Anker valley farmland, the hawthorn and field-maple hedgerows of the old enclosure lanes, and the watermeadow willows and brook-side elder along the Sence — gives local bees a measured midland season with a notable June lime flow from the Bosworth Park trees.
Collectors regularly attend swarms in the Bosworth Park lime and oak parkland, in the older garden remnants and Market Place lime trees of the town centre conservation area, along the Sence riverside willows and watermeadow margins toward Shenton and Carlton, in the old hedgerow oaks and field-maple lines of the Battlefield Country Park, and in the chimney stacks and eaves of the older red-brick market-town properties.

Oilseed rape and field beans drive the arable flow. Sycamore and horse chestnut in the market towns build the mid-May crop; lime dominates June in Leicester, Loughborough and Market Harborough. Charnwood brings sweet chestnut, bracken and patches of bilberry; Bradgate and Belvoir parks add ancient lime and oak. Bramble is universal; rosebay willowherb fills ex-quarry ground around Mountsorrel. Ivy on the red-brick farmhouses and old pub gardens closes the season strongly.
