The lime avenues of Kelvingrove, Queen's Park and Pollok deliver a classic June flow; himalayan balsam along the Clyde and Kelvin gives a long and genuinely productive late-summer flow — a defining Glasgow crop. Bramble is everywhere; rosebay willowherb flushes former railway, shipyard and canal land. Gorse and broom on the city edge contribute; ivy on tenement back courts closes a long urban year.
