Ederney is a quiet village in north Fermanagh set in the rolling drumlin landscape between Kesh and Belleek. Dense hawthorn hedges crisscross the surrounding farmland, giving one of the county's most reliable spring forage landscapes when the whitethorn is at peak bloom in May. Sycamore trees in and around the village contribute a useful June and July flow. The Ballynahatty area to the south carries mixed farmland and rough limestone grassland where wild marjoram and wild thyme appear. Bramble and meadowsweet along the field ditches extend the summer season, and ivy on older stone farm buildings and walls sustains bees into October.
