Grangetown is a densely built-up inner suburb of Cardiff on the south bank of the Taff, edging Cardiff Bay and the revitalised Barrage area to the south. The Taff Embankment, Jubilee Park and the Cardiff Bay Wetlands Reserve nearby provide urban green corridors; sea-lavender and sea-purslane on the restored intertidal margins of the bay add a coastal note to the forage mix through late summer. Collectors cover swarms in the Jubilee Park trees and Taff Embankment willows, in the walled gardens and mature trees of the older Clive Street and Holmesdale Street properties, along the Cardiff Bay waterfront with its ornamental planting, and in the eaves and chimney stacks of the Victorian and Edwardian bay-fronted terraces throughout the ward.

Early flows come from cherry plum and blackthorn in Bute and Roath parks. Sycamore and horse chestnut fill May; the lime collection in Bute Park is one of the largest in any UK city, giving a classic pale urban lime honey in June. Bramble is dense along the Taff Trail; rosebay willowherb flushes the former dock brownfield of Cardiff Bay.
